How did it all start?

Alphabet Linguistics was founded in 2016 by Daniel Dugan. After university studies in Political Science and English Literature, Daniel enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry. Starting in Houston, he was steadily promoted from manufacturing to traveling field operations roles and eventually to commercial operations and sales roles. For eight years, his focus involved hazardous area electrical systems that are used in oil drilling, mining, and chemical processing applications. It was in that environment that Daniel recognized the importance of clear communication between cultures, languages and occupations. His love for languages began as a teenager with French. For several years, he freelanced as a French to English translator until several clients suggested he establish an agency. When he is not studying and networking with other linguists, Daniel enjoys traveling, hiking, cycling, and venturing far and wide to visit his family and friends.

Daniel is an active member of the French-American Chamber of Commerce, American Translators Association, New England Translators Association and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
